As founding member of the Youth Partnership for Peace and Development, Musa is a diligent, thorough and organized change-maker who has the desire and passion to make the changes needed within the community he lives and those young people around him. His demonstrated commitment to the importance of research on peace building and development issues in his country, and has provided invaluable insight into Sierra Leonean governance systems. He worked patiently and enthusiastically, and is continuously eager to learn new knowledge and skills.

Musa has vast knowledge in peace negotiation, facilitation and training. Through a mixture of skills in public speech making, social mobilization and consensus building, Sulaiman Musa has been able to achieve substantially for and on behalf of young people in Sierra Leone.

As a former President of the Children's Forum Network, through some of his personal initiatives and bold presentations made at various Policy Forums, got parliament to pass the Child Rights Acts (CRA) in June 2007.

He also initiated the "Neibah Watch" (Neighborhood Watch) program, a networking activity by young people for monitoring and reporting violations and abuses against young people in various communities.
Now a Youth Activist, Mr. Musa is the current Child Welfare Coordinator for Youth Partnership fo Peace and Development, also, he serves as the Information and Communications Officer for Salone Youth and Adolescent Network on Population and Development. For his commitment and enthusiasm to public service and peace building, Mr. Musa as through the Youth Partnership for Peace and Development was invited to the Think Tanks Forum of the Islamic Countries, held in Istanbul in January, 2010.

Mr. Musa led the development of a Children's Anti-Poverty Agenda; a document that was incorporated in the second generation of the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) now the government's agenda for change. This document serves as a guide for Child Protection agencies in addressing the urgent needs of Children in Sierra Leone. In 2008, Mr. Musa was awarded by the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children's Affairs as the National Child Ambassador.

As a child rights expert, Sulaiman Musa represented Sierra Leone to the 6th African Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect in Addis Ababa, May 2009 where he was elected as chairperson for the children sessions of the conference. Mr. Musa boldly presented a Declaration statement on behalf of the Children of Africa, reminding parents, governments and NGOs of their responsibilities to children. He also reechoed the responsibilities of every child to the "rights" enshrined in the international Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Mr. Musa, during his tenure of office as National President of the Children's Forum Network, served as the children's representative to: the national child protection committee; national child rights coalition and national steering committee on the Child Rights Acts.


Miss. Coker is the current Gender Programs Manager for the Youth Partnership for Peace and Development and over the years, she has succeeded in advancing the program with innovation and active commitment towards issues of gender in Sierra Leone.

She has an academic background in Peace and Conflict from the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, but totally dedicates he time towards bringing issues of Women's Rights and Justice to the frontlines of activism.

Miss. Coker has coordinated a number of projects within the organization focusing on Gender and
other related issues and among which are:

The planning and organization of the launching of the Maternal Health and Women's Right Campaign in Sierra Leone on 9th April 2008 in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme and the United nations Millennium Campaign. As a member of the Global Land Tool Network and Voice Over, she has contributed in various forms just to project issues of women and children during the various discussion fora.

She also organized a Media Round Table for the 2009 16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence on the theme "Commit o Act o Demand: We CAN End Violence Against Women!"
For a number of reasons, Miss. Coker has acquired tremendous experiences in the field and always ready to share those skills and experiences to other she works with and for.
